Planning a trip to an ice cave should not come with a data trail behind you. This page sets out what katlaicecavetour.org collects when you visit, what we never collect, and what happens when you follow a link out to book a tour. It covers this site only.

What we collect, and what we do not

There is no account to create and no form to fill in anywhere on the site. You can read every tour comparison, every guide to meeting points and gear, and every South Coast itinerary without telling us who you are.

The one way to reach us directly is email. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in your message, and we use them for a single purpose: replying to you. We do not add you to any list or pass your details on.

How we measure visits

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to understand which pages help travelers most. It sets no cookies and stores no personal data. All it records, in aggregate, is the page viewed, the site you arrived from, your country and your device type. We see totals, not individuals.

When you leave the site

katlaicecavetour.org is an independent guide. The tours we compare, the 25 listings last checked on 3 October 2026, are booked through GetYourGuide. When you click a booking link or open an availability widget, you are dealing with GetYourGuide, and from that moment their privacy policy governs your data, not this page. That includes anything you share while booking a super jeep tour, a glacier hike or a Katla ice cave trip.

Some pages also load maps and route views from outside providers so you can find departure points in Vík or Reykjavík. Loading that content sends those providers your IP address, in the same way any website you visit does.

Your choices

You are in control of the parts of the site that reach beyond it. You can block our analytics and any third-party content in your browser, and every page remains readable if you do. Nothing on the site depends on tracking you.
